Bright Futures

TreeHouse Teens

Hannah's Story

Because of TreeHouse, I’m sober. Because of TreeHouse, I’ve stopped cutting. Because of TreeHouse, I love God and I know that I am loved.

I'm now heavily involved with a church and various youth groups. I have been sober for 10 months and have gone 7 months without self harming. I'm planning to go to college after I graduate this June to study English and hopefully become a writer. In fact, I've already written 40 pages of my memoir, and I'm looking for a publisher. I'm looking forward to what God has planned for my future.

Thank you for supporting the youth at TreeHouse. You've made a difference in my life!

Chris's Story

TreeHouse made my life worth living. It made me realize that I can be me and that I can change the world. I want to follow God and help the world just as God does every day. I can never repay TreeHouse for that! TreeHouse gave me life.

Devonte's Story

When I look back upon my experience at TreeHouse, I see a different person than the one who walked through those doors five years ago. I realize that without TreeHouse I might still be in a gang, fighting all the time, and living a life I never wanted to live.

Jeremiah's Story

If it wasn't for TreeHouse I would be going down the wrong path, running with the gang, and possibly locked up in prison.

In just a few months I'll be graduating from TreeHouse. I must admit the thought of leaving makes me sad. I've grown to fall in love with this place and although I won't be there physically, I know the memories and everything I've learned will live on.

TreeHouse has changed my life!!! I want to first thank God for the work He has done and is doing in my life. I also want to thank all of TreeHouse for never giving up on me and for continuing to be that positive influence that’s pushed me to grow. THANK YOU TREEHOUSE!

Jerry's Story

At TreeHouse you meet people that don’t have perfect lives. But, everyone fits in here and has a place to belong. It is a place where you can find true community.

Today I’m in a stable place. I know where I’m going to be at every night now. I have a friendship with TreeHouse staff which means the world to me. I have a relationship with God. I’m a leader at TreeHouse and someone that others look up to.

I’m trying to finish school and I want to go to Crown College to study Youth Ministry.

Stacy's Story

It scares me to think where I’d be if the TreeHouse staff didn’t roll up in the TreeHouse van. I would probably have dropped out of school, be in a group home, or possibly dead because of overdosing on drugs.

Instead, I believe that my life will have a lasting impact on other people’s lives. I hope to go to college and eventually work with kids and help them like TreeHouse has helped me.

Because of TreeHouse I know who God is and this has completely changed my life. I’m not alone, I’m loved unconditionally, and I have a future.

Tracy's Story

With TreeHouse, I first went roller skating, bowling, jet skiing, paint balling, canoeing, and so much more!  But my most favorite thing is knowing that I am loved by so many people. I am becoming more confident in myself and the abilities God has given me. I am considered a leader at TreeHouse—something that I never imagined. TreeHouse has given me hope for today and the future. My life will never be the same.

Today I am only in therapy once a month just to check in.  I have been taken off of my pills. I have gone through six months of therapy with my parents which taught us how to manage our emotions. I have made it a year and half without attempting suicide. I have many friends that love me for who I am, and people that I met at TreeHouse that hold me accountable for wanting to better myself.

I am living proof that TreeHouse changes lives. If it was not for TreeHouse, I would not be alive.

TreeHouse Alumni

Barry's Story

Today I have a full time job working with autistic teens and young adults.  I also volunteer with the Alumni Group at the Brooklyn Park TreeHouse. I enjoy being able to help people the way TreeHouse helped me.

The caring relationships and support I received from Treehouse have changed my life, without a doubt. TreeHouse gave me hope that I could accomplish my dreams. It showed me that I wasn’t worthless. Treehouse gave me positive adults in my life, when most of the adults in my life were drug addicts and alcoholics. Now, instead of going through life being passive, I'm actively involved in creating the future I want.

Terry's Story

Eight years ago, I was a shy, quiet, trapped girl, who thought it was normal to be in pain all the time. Now, because of TreeHouse, I am a genuine, expressive, independent woman. I don’t know how to thank the staff of TreeHouse enough for helping me through my rough teen years. I truly don’t believe I would have lived without the safe environment they created to express my pain and to learn about God. I am forever grateful for the work they do every day.

Christy's Story

Without Treehouse, I know that I wouldn't be where I am today. I dont think that I would have given my life to Christ and I probably would still be the same, bitter person that I was before. Without Treehouse, and God, I don't think I would even be alive today. God brought me to Treehouse to be changed and to change my heart for Him. He saved my life.

Janita's Story

Because of TreeHouse I want to be a teacher or a counselor because I want to help others like others have helped me here.

TreeHouse helps teens get off the streets and keeps them from doing what they shouldn’t be doing like gang activity, stealing, drugs, partying, and other bad stuff.

Instead, TreeHouse helps us grow up, find God, and stay strong.
