At TreeHouse, we value the time and talents that adults want to offer to a mission they care about. The TreeHouse Community Volunteer Program fulfills vital functions of TreeHouse in the communities we serve while providing meaningful engagement opportunities for its volunteers. Adequate preparation, resources, support and infrastructure ensures the best overall experience for the volunteer while making the greatest impact on TreeHouse youth, staff and the local community.

TREEHOUSE NEXT COACHING
TH Next Coaching is a one-to-one coaching opportunity to help teens develop an educational or vocational path for the future. Teens need assistance in these areas and more:
ACT preparation
Essay writing
College applications
Financial aid consulting
Resume/interview preparation
Guidance in their transition after high school
Time Commitment:  2 – 4 hours per month

TREEHOUSE NEXT COLLEGE SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
Help students navigate the world of post-secondary education. Role would include  checking in with campus leaders monthly to make sure that student groups are going well, and students are feeling supported. Meeting with students who need some extra support and guidance. Training provided.


SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Invest directly in the lives of teens facing life’s challenges during Support Group programs. Teens benefit from hearing from other teens facing similar trials and receive support and encouragement from their peers and small group leaders.
Time Commitment: Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

GOING DEEPER PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Invest directly in the lives of teens by acting in a support role for the crazy games, funny skits, relevant media, and inspirational teaching that make up Thursday’s Going Deeper program. You’ll have a front row seat to witness how this positive environment builds healthy relationships with God, self, and others.
Time Commitment: Thursdays

MENTORING
Build deep, long-term relationships with our teens through one-to-one mentoring. Enjoy the journey of seeing life transformation take place in a young person’s life through the consistent influence of your friendship and guidance. If mentoring is something you feel called to, please note that you will be required to attend either our Going Deeper or Support Group program temporarily in order for you and a teen to get acquainted and establish a relationship. 
Time Commitment: One year commitment. Initial availability will be Tuesday or Thursday 6:30-8:30 pm. After 3-6 months, availability is flexible

GROWTH GROUP LEADER
Invest directly in the lives of teens by leading a small group. Choose a theme, identify the teens and create the structure. Groups can be spiritually focused, skills building focused or community building focused. This is a great way to build an initial connection and relationships with teens.  A great short-term option that can lead to other volunteer opportunities down the road.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TEAM MEMBER (CDT)
The Community Development Team (CDT) is comprised of 10-12 caring adults that assist their local TreeHouse in stewarding the mission of Treehouse and its values to the community, through volunteer engagement, community awareness, event planning and fundraising

VAN DRIVER (Lakeville site only)


Invest directly in the lives of teens at a TreeHouse site on Going Deeper and Support Group program nights by driving a TreeHouse van and dropping off teens after program. Online training is required. You may do this with a friend!

ONE TIME VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

MEALS FOR TEENS

Prepare a meal at home, bring it to TreeHouse and serve 25-35 teens before the evening program. Ideal service opportunity for families or small groups!

TREEHOUSE SEASONAL NECESSITIES
Gather a group of friends and put together treats and necessities for our teens to enjoy during key times of the year, including holidays, Back-to-School, or for traveling long distances. Choose from the options below:

  • Back-to-School:  Fill backpacks with pencils, pens (black, blue and red), notebooks, folders, calculators, erasers, glue sticks, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, earbuds, stylus, pencil case, jump drive, 2” 3-ring binder, Trapper Keeper

  • TreeHouse Trips: Provide snacks and handy travel items for teens participating in mission, adventure and service/outreach trips. Items to include: chips, candy, gum, granola bars, gift cards to McDonalds, blankets, deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrush, lotion and socks.

  • Thanksgiving Baskets: Create Thanksgiving dinner baskets for  teens’ families. Include turkey, green bean casserole ingredients, sweet potatoes, jiffy corn bread, rolls, pumpkin pie, Stove Top Stuffing, Hungry Jack Mashed Potatoes, etc.

  • Christmas Baskets: Create Christmas dinner baskets for our teens’ families. Include ham, green bean casserole ingredients, sweet potatoes, jiffy corn bread, rolls, apple pie, Stove Top Stuffing, Hungry Jack Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese.

  • Christmas Gifts: Each TreeHouse throws a Christmas party for its teens each year, who may not otherwise receive gifts due to financial constraints.  Purchase gifts for teens ages 12-18, donate gift cards, contribute cash (to be used for the staff to purchase gifts and prizes) or make a donation for this event.

TREEHOUSE NEXT CAMPUS CARE PACKAGES
Encourage, support, nourish and inspire college students with gifts of: Sweet, salty or savory snacks, single-serve soup, hot cocoa or tea, gift cards, laundry pods, toiletries, socks, etc.

EVENT SUPPORT
Serve on a planning committee for a TreeHouse event and assist with various fundraising related tasks such as greeting, registration, set-up, auctions, etc. Or volunteer on your own, giving your time and talent to prepare for or work at one of our signature community events.

VAN CLEANING
Our vans need regular TLC to keep them running and enjoyable to travel in. Quarterly, they require a deep clean to vacuum and shampoo carpets and seats and clean windows, tires, and other interior maintenance. This is a great opportunity for a group of 8-12.

YARD WORK / LANDSCAPING
Assemble a group of volunteers and assist with various landscaping projects or help with routine maintenance by raking leaves, tree trimming, snow removal, gardening, pulling weeds, etc.  Assist with fall and spring clean-ups.
